Messi or Ronaldo?

Messi or Ronaldo?
I’m not a religious person. Quite the opposite. Upon learning that someone is religious, I lose a miniscule amount of respect for them. I probably shouldn’t admit that, but it’s true. I’m not saying I categorize them as sub-human like many of the Founding Fathers of this nation seemed perfectly content to do. Far from it. I’m simply saying they’re not the first folks I’d ask for an opinion on matters necessitating out-of-the-box thinking or critical analysis. And to be fair to me, this diminished respect can be re-earned over time. However, if that person were to tell me Cristiano Ronaldo is the best footballer of all time, I would instantly and forever lose respect for any opinion that person has ever or will ever express. Respect which might (might!) begin to be re-built when they finally come to their senses and admit Lionel Messi’s vast superiority in nearly every aspect of the game. My full respect, however, they will never regain. To watch Ronaldo play football these days is to sadly realize that time catches up with all of us. Watching Messi play football, though, is as close to a religious experience as I can imagine.
