Q&complAints #717: Missed Invention

What invention did you miss out on?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Document your idea here; it’ll lock in your copyright. [No it won’t!].

. . .here are my thoughts.

What invention did you miss out on?

Toaster pasta! Okay, sure, it’s a ridiculous, unreasonable idea. Pasta is meant to become flimsy when cooked, not toasted and crispy. The exception, of course, being when noodles are deliciously pan-fried. Perhaps there are other methods to create crispiness, but this non-gourmand is unaware of any. More than a decade ago, I had the idea to start with frozen noodles packaged inside some sort of edible (possibly dissolving) enclosure—something like rice paper, or whatever they wrap sushi with. The entire frozen brick goes into the toaster until magically, out pops a hot serving of freshly “cooked” pasta. Drop the entire thing into a bowl, crack open the rice paper, add some seasonings and a sauce of your choosing, and you’ve got yourself a meal in a matter of minutes. Turns out the microwave is a far easier, cleaner, and safer option than a toaster. Plus, lots of colleges don’t even allow toasters in dorm rooms due to the fire risk of exposed heating coils. Regardless, it turns out the real reason I missed making my millions via instant ramen is because it had already been invented way back in 1958. Who knew?
