What is a strange reason to celebrate?

What is a strange reason to celebrate?
Sometimes it’s okay to talk about the effect, but not the cause. The cause is the reason the effect takes place. No cause; no effect. Hence, the famous phrase: cause and effect. There could be numerous causes bringing about the same effect. Someone could be homeless because a wildfire burnt their house down; they could have been evicted; or they sold it so they could afford to fill up their car’s gas tank. Other times, though, there’s only one reasonable cause of the effect. In some of these situations, our culture holds a metaphorical finger up to its lips and shooshes any discussion of the causal action. Enough beating around the bush. (That’s what she said … 9 months ago.) We’re talking about having a kid. Cause (sex) and effect (baby). Mom holds the newborn in her arms while Dad hauls the diaper bag. It’s customary to congratulate them on the birth of their child. It’s even kosher to ask how the delivery went. Back when they announced their pregnancy, congratulations were also mandatory. But can you give the happy couple congratulatory fist bumps while asking for a play-by-play of the conception? Nope!
