Q&complAints #446 : Sweet Treat

What is your favorite sweet treat?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! You can have a little sweet treat as a reward when you’re done.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What is your favorite sweet treat?

I just recently decided upon the answer to this one.  Great Harvest Bread Co. makes Kula Bars every Tuesday.  They’re essentially 7-Layer Cookies—the very same cookies my mother has made every Christmas since I was a child.  I never ate them, though, because of the amount of coconut they contain.  Mom now makes a special batch without coconut just for me each winter.  A true Christmas miracle.  Kula Bars have coconut in them as well, but at a level nearly imperceivable within the rest of that culinary goodness.  My loving wife, Phoebe, put me to the ultimate test last Tuesday when she brought my favorite sweet treat home.  She did this despite me clearly stating I was on a “no treats” diet for the month.  I did say I’d allow a one-time exemption for an unavoidable occasion when just such a treat was thrust upon me.  I didn’t think I’d use my one-time so early in the month, though.  And certainly didn’t imagine the temptation would be delivered by my supportive wife.  Yes, I ate the Kula Bar.  But I did hold out until Wednesday afternoon.  Most difficult 20 hours of my life!

  1. Should have left out coconut for you years ago. Never thought of it. My problem is I like sweets better than real food. Guess that’s why I’ll never be skinny. But if I had to choose. chocolate fudge

    • Better late than never! Saved me tens-of-thousands of calories over my life … so there’s that little benefit.
