Q&complAints #356: Must Sing

What song makes you want to get up and sing?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! But why not sit down and belt out your thoughts before you stand up and belt out those tunes.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What song makes you want to get up and sing?

The “Happy Birthday” song (what’s the actual title?) only recently lost its copyright protection.  It can now be sung without paying royalties.  Before entering the public domain, I assume it could just have been sung to a slightly different tune and you’d be fine.  I mean, the vast majority of people who sang Happy Birthday over the decades were nowhere close to in tune.  Plus, “Happy Birthday” is an extremely common saying.  Just to be safe, though, you might have sung “Happy Birthday to You” a 4th time, or do the “Happy Birthday Dear ______” as the 2nd, rather than 3rd line.  I very seldom want to sing even while I’m alone.  Never do I desire to stand up and do so in front of others.  Less a lack of desire; more a goodwill gesture to anyone within earshot.  For Happy Birthday, though, cultural norms dictate I must sing.  Let’s be honest—I’m not one to heed many social norms just to fit it.  Therefore, my “singing” ends up being more of the Milli Vanilli variety.  Since I’m learning American Sign Language, maybe I can just sign while others sing
