. . .here are my thoughts.

What is NOT a good thing to bring into show-and-tell?

There’s lots of ways to make notes these days. The majority have something to do with your cell phone. Gone are the days of paper and pencil—especially when on the go. Folks may use a dedicated notes app, or leave themselves an audio message on their phone’s Recorder feature. I, however, have another method. I simply text myself. The average person already sends a metric buttload of texts every day, so accessing a text chain is second nature—much less thought involved than fidgeting with a notes app you barely use. Any mental energy spent searching for the icon, or navigating an unfamiliar app, can be all that’s needed to lose that fleeting idea you have. Texts I send show up right-justified. The corresponding received text is left-justified. I immediately erase one of the two, leaving more urgent matters on the left, and less pressing issues on the right. Admittedly, this wouldn’t be the most stimulating concept to bring to show-and-tell. But I’ve heard rumor from Ned and Viv that Santa uses this right/left texting method for his “Naughty or Nice List.” That factoid might sustain those kiddies’ interest.
