No better way to remedy an awkward situation than with a friendly card game between colleagues. Ned will have you believe he let Viv win. Viv tells the story a bit differently, though. She claims to have committed every error possible to let Ned win—going so far as “accidentally” discarding his wild card . . . 12 times! Viv felt bad for Ned, figuring a win might ease any emotional pain or embarrassment he suffered yesterday. But there’s only so much goodwill an elf can grant before she’s forced to draw the line. Who could blame her, after all; it’s not every day you make a straight flush for the win.
