Q&complAints #700: I Said “MOM”

What’s the second thing you think of when you hear MOM?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Let’s see if my mother even bothers to comment.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What’s the second thing you think of when you hear MOM?

I hope MOM brings you nothing but positive thoughts. At least mostly positive … even just a glimmer. Hopefully MOM leads to at least 1 or 2 instances of positivity each year. Really depends on what team you support. I should clarify. By MOM, I mean Man-of-the-Match, not that special lady who conceived, birthed, raised, and loves you (or whatever combination regardless of past, present, or future tenses). Sure, Man-of-the-Match really should be MOTM. But nobody includes “T” for the in initialisms. Now that we’re on the same page, what’s not to love about a MOM? As an Everton fan, I know all too well that the MOM is often on the opposition team. That’s indicative that your club probably didn’t win. But there are those exceedingly rare occasions when the MOM award goes to a player who had a fantastic game for those losers you support. When your team’s best player gets their plaudits too often in a losing effort, bigger clubs swoop in with a transfer offer that’s too good to refuse. What I’m saying to James Garner and Iliman Ndiaye is this: Evertonians will miss you!
