What is the most potentially confusing heteronym?
Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Before you desert your computer to go polish off some Polish dessert in the desert, live a little and post a comment that’ll go live to the world.

. . .here are my thoughts.
What is the most potentially confusing heteronym?
Depending on whether you pronounce patronize as [pey-truh-nahyz] or [pa‑truh-nahyz], confusion could reign. The long “A” version of patronize generally refers to frequenting an establishment. The short “A” pronunciation leans toward having an air of condescension or superiority toward something. Surely you knew that. Hopefully I’m not patronizing anyone who so kindly patronizes my blog. By that, of course, I mean not to “condescend to a regular blog reader,” not “frequently visit someone who belittles my writing.” See what I mean? Confusing! Imagine a fella in a swanky hotel’s cocktail lounge, sliding a handful of $100 bills toward a lady. She yells, “I will not be patronized!” Is this a husband mansplaining money management to his wife while preparing to pay the bill? Or is he a recent divorcee, not so subtlety offering the beautiful women double for a second go-round, despite her making it abundantly clear their romp upstairs was a one-time transaction? Maybe they’re currently married, role-playing him as a recent divorcee, and her a high-class call-girl who’s a bit short on rent for the month. She might gladly be re-patronized, but not for a patronizing amount less than $1,000.
