If you were to write a book, what would it be about?
Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Keep it relatively short, though; don’t write a book.
. . .here are my thoughts.
If you were to write a book, what would it be about?
nimrod: (noun): 1. idiot; jerk; 2. hunter
I’d only heard the word nimrod employed to belittle someone’s mental acuity. That was until I saw the name of the Hungarian-American director of a couple Stranger Things episodes: Nimrod Antal. Upon learning the other meaning of nimrod, I assumed Mr. Antal’s Americanized nickname has to be Hunter. Nimrod seems like a word that can be purposely used to disguise the meaning of a phrase, sentence, or even the whole premise of a story. I wouldn’t be surprised if Agatha Christie employed it in a murder mystery novel as a clue, hidden right out in the open, noticed only by readers with an exceptional vocabulary. The murderer is repeatedly referred to as a nimrod. Lesser readers believe he’s just some harmless idiot wandering the woods every morning. But wordsmiths would know not to eliminate a trained hunter possessing any number of weapons capable of delivering the mortal wound described in the opening chapter. Our nimrod has the means. His alibi cannot be substantiated. But what’s his motive? Just a few more details to hammer out and I’ve got me a book!
