What do you wish your doctor would tell you?
Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Or just let me know your last blood pressure or glucose reading. Whatever!
. . .here are my thoughts.
What do you wish your doctor would tell you?
I haven’t been to a “doctor” in quite some time—somewhere between 15 and 20 years. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have decent health insurance—high deductible plan with an HSA. Thanks for asking. Technically, I have been to a “doctor” many times in the last 2 decades—got me a good set of chompers. And, of course, my insurance plan contributes an extra $100 per year to my HSA if I get a health assessment done: cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, BMI. So I’ve seen a CNP for that. Some people overuse and overtax the healthcare system. People like me, who use essentially zero healthcare dollars, help average out those heavy users. But my wife keeps urging me to find a PCP—threatening to make me an appointment with a provider of her choosing. Once Phoebe wins that battle—and she will—I know what I want the health care provider to tell me:
“You’re in even better health than that idiot doctor claimed Trump was shortly after he was elected. Two minor differences, though: you really are in that great of health, and I will see you again in 4 years.”
