What would be a very disturbing discovery?
Occasionally it’s very disturbing to discover something new about your spouse. That disturbance manifested yesterday. The NFL Draft began at 8:00 PM and, oddly enough, it was on my TV. I say oddly because I don’t follow the NFL. Other than watching most of the Ohio State games and the 3 National Championship playoff games each season, I don’t watch college football either. The oddest thing, though, was that my wife had control of the remote. She turned on the NFL Draft . . . by her own volition. Sure, she’ll watch the first half of the Super Bowl . . . I mean The Big Game . . . fine, the professional football match held the first Sunday in February. But even then she’s really only interested in the commercials. So, yeah, it was very disturbing to find out how much Phoebe likes to see young men in spiffy suits become instant millionaires. Should I have asked why she enjoys it so much? Some things are better left a mystery. I’ll speculate she just likes to imagine how each of those young guns is gonna waste their signing bonus.
