Q&complAints #371: Trivial Thing

What trivial thing always gets in the way of a good relationship?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! It may seem trivial, but I assure you a comment will improve our relationship.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What trivial thing always gets in the way of a good relationship?

Theer’s tihs odidty of the hmuan biran taht alolws us to eisaly regncoize a wrod wtih its ltteers all mexid up, so lnog as the frist and lsat leterts are in tehir cerroct stops.  It gets a little tricky when the jumbled-up letters create another actual English language word—such as the case above where stops is meant to be spots.  Each letter is imperative, but their exact locales aren’t all that important.  The same generally goes for the words that make up a sentence.  We’ve all watched movies where we’ve missed a word or two an actor said.  Maybe the background music was too loud, or the character had a strong accent you couldn’t fully understand.  No worries, though; you could still understand the intended meaning.  Unless you’re watching anything with Colin Farrell, in which case, subtitles please!  But sometimes missing just a single word can completely change the meaning of a sentence.  Even the addition or subtraction of a word as simple and seemingly trivial as the definite article, the, can create tension in an otherwise good relationship.  Case in point:

“Your cooking is [the] shit!”
