What TV or movie character freaks you out?
My wife and I just finished watching the first 4 seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale. And . . . yeah. Do not watch this series if you’re easily triggered by disturbing content. Which variety of disturbing content, you ask. All of them! The amazingly disturbing content undoubtedly parallels happenings of the past century, some of which likely persist to a lesser extent somewhere in this crazy-ass world. Frankly, if you watch all 4 seasons without threatening to stop at multiple junctions, you’re likely a danger to society. That being said, we can’t wait for season 5! I’ve seen a number of series bandied about as the greatest ever: The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Lost, 24, The Walking Dead. Even though the final season of Elisabeth Moss’s role as June Osborne is more than a year away, I’d already argue The Handmaid’s Tale is right up there among those elite ranks. A person can be pushed only so far before they lose their shit. With June, this often culminates with a piercing glare and a fresh corpse. Arguably, those eyes freak me out more than the death that follows.
