. . .here are my thoughts.

What aspect of the “good ol’ days” would you like to see make a comeback?

I recently watched The Current War, a film about Michael Shannon and Benedict Cumberbatch’s . . . I mean George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison’s battle to see which method of delivering current would win out: alternating (AC) or direct (DC). Inspired by true events, the film also highlighted Nikola Tesla. In my opinion, Tesla was a genius who should be much better known than he is. Some of his ideas were simply too far advanced for the late 19th century. Anyway, Edison would not agree to collaborate with Westinghouse despite numerous appeals. Even once Edison knew deep down that Westinghouse’s claim of AC power’s superiority was correct, he remained stubborn. In fact, Edison went as far as telling lies about both Westinghouse and the potential danger of AC current. His warnings began purely enough, but soon Edison began making exaggerated claims without proof to justify them. One might have called it fake news. Can you imagine a time when such wild assertions could be so freely made, completely absent of any scientific—or logical—basis. Wouldn’t it be entertaining if fake news made a comeback?
