. . .here are my thoughts.

Who most deserves an Honorary Award Oscar?

There’s no Academy Award for stunt performers.  Imagine some of the biggest movies of the last decade without the stunt performers who make them possible.  We sure as hell couldn’t have superhero movies, so bye-bye to all The Avengers films.  John Wick is full of stunts.  Goodbye to Top Gun: Maverick and all the Mission: Impossible films.  Tom Cruise can’t do everyone else’s stunts, too!  There’s been a push the last few years to rectify this Oscar situation.  Notably, The Fall Guy: The Extended Cut makes a passing, yet blatant reference to this snub.  Will this be the catalyst needed for change?  Ryan Gosling may not be able to make it happen by his lonesome, but change might occur if Cruise joins in the activism.  The Academy would have to start by giving Tom Cruise a lifetime achievement Oscar, with the express implication that he won’t qualify for future awards in the Stunt category.  Oscar wealth needs spread among those without untold millions in financial wealth.  After all, who wouldn’t want to hear a 45-second speech from some dude you’ve never heard of, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a hulking Mark Ruffalo.
