Rx #0000070 : Short-Dated Drug

Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients
Ever heard of Dick’s Last Resort? Never been to the restaurant myself, but I love the concept. It’s like the court jester in medieval times being able to tell the King the harsh truth since everything he said was in—you guessed it—jest. Why has no pharmacy taken up this business practice? If patients expect harsh but fair truth from the pharmacy team, they’ll accept it readily.
Welcome to URxProbablyRxight. The pharmacy of the future where we provide “Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients.”

Short-Dated Drug

[Rph]: “This is short-dated.  The expiration date needs changed on the label.”
[Tech]: “It’s just a cream, Marianne.  The date’s on the tube.  They’ll see it.”
[Rph]: “Doesn’t matter; it’s gotta be changed.  In fact, that’s all the more reason to change it on the label.”
[Tech]: “Can you just change it real quick, please?”
[Rph]: “Want to know how we can make this whole process real quick?”
[Tech]: “It’d be quickest if you just crossed it out and wrote it on the label instead of sending it back to me.”
[Rph]: “I don’t want to sound like a dick, Jaycee, but couldn’t you have just done it correctly to start with?”
[Tech]: “Mission fail!”
[Rph]: “That’s all right.  We all make mistakes.”
[Tech]: “Wow, wow, wow!  I’m not saying I failed.  I’m saying you failed in not sounding like a dick.”
[Rph]: “If I wanted to be a dick, I would have just said ‘Do your job right, or I’ll find someone who will!’”
[Tech]: “Wow!  So now you’re telling me the way I interpret things is wrong.”
[Rph]: “I don’t even know what that means.  I’m saying this job can be stressful.  And maybe it’s time for your lunch break.”
[Tech]: “I’m going on break!”
[Rph]: “That’s what I just said.”
[Tech]: “So I guess you’re right again.”
[Rph]: “Your hangry, aren’t you?”
[Tech]: “Right again.”
