What Hall of Fame induction ceremony (real or fictional) would you like to attend?
Halls of Fame are a bit silly. If they must exist, though, I wouldn’t mind being in one. Technically, I have been—I’ve visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame numerous times in my youth. But I think you know what I mean. My best shot would be induction into Austintown Fitch High School’s HOF. What are my qualifications? Well, I’m glad you asked. Varsity letterman, six times over: soccer and tennis, three years each. I was voted MVP of the tennis team both sophomore and junior year, and captain senior year when I worked my way up to #1 singles. But soccer is where I truly excelled. I was a rock of a central defender sophomore year, garnering accolades traditionally reserved for upperclassmen. I progressed up the pitch, season after season, ultimately playing central striker senior year. In fewer than 20 games that season, I tallied 27 goals and 23 assists! Erling Haaland would be jealous of those stats. In my mind, there are really only two questions.
- Does Fitch even have a Hall of Fame?
- Would I bother attending the induction ceremony?
