Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients
Ever heard of Dick’s Last Resort? Never been to the restaurant myself, but I love the concept. It’s like the court jester in medieval times being able to tell the King the harsh truth since everything he said was in—you guessed it—jest. Why has no pharmacy taken up this business practice? If patients expect harsh but fair truth from the pharmacy team, they’ll accept it readily.
Welcome to URxProbablyRxight. The pharmacy of the future where we provide “Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients.”

[Patient]: “Yeah, hey, is this what I’m looking for?”
[Intern]: “Are you looking for Oscillococcinum?”
[Pt]: “Is that how you pronounce it?”
[Intern]: “No idea.  But when I say things with confidence, folks tend to believe me.”
[Pt]: “Alright.  So is this what I’m looking for.”
[Intern]: “I’m not a mind-reader.  But I can read the box.  Is Oscillococcinum what you want?”
[Pt]: “I mean, I don’t know.  I got this cold, I think.  I’m not really stuffed up, but I can’t smell a damn thing, and—”
[Intern]: “Wow, wow, wow!  First off—here’s a mask.  Second—at-home COVID tests are right over there.  And third—get the hell out of here!  You probably have COVID.”
[Pt]: “Nah, nah, nah.  This ain’t COVID.  I already had COVID, and this ain’t it.”
[Intern]: “COVID or not, this Oscillo—whatever is just homeopathic garbage, so it’s not gonna work for whatever it is you have.”
[Pt]: “So you’re saying I shouldn’t get it?”
[Intern]: “Get a box of COVID tests and get out of the store!”
[Pt]: “Yeah, okay.  Thanks.”
[Rph]: “He’s gonna buy the Oscillococcinum, isn’t he, Owen?”
[Intern]: “Well, he still has it in his hands . . . along with the mask I gave him.  But he didn’t grab any COVID tests.”
[Rph]: “Can’t cure stupid.”
[Intern]: “That’s for sure, Marianne.  At least not with homeopathy.”
[Rph]: “Homeopathy is based around the silly belief that ‘like cures like.’  So maybe a stupid product can cure his stupidity.”
[Intern]: “As long as COVID doesn’t kill him first.”
