What one thing would you like to pass down to future generations?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! But you’ll be passing on an opportunity to let your thoughts live for generations to come.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What one thing would you like to pass down to future generations?

The ultimate goal of each member of a species is to pass along genetic material so the species can survive, thrive, and eventually evolve.  To accomplish this, procreation is a must—each individual’s gift to future generations.  To this extent, I am a failure!  Since I’ve failed all future generations of Homo sapiens, what do I instead want to leave them?  I’m too late to be one of the famous people—James Watt, Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, and countless others—whose inventions changed the lives of future generations.  Inventions that, we now know, have played large roles in climate change.  No matter what great deed you leave behind, no matter how great the next handful of generations believe you to be, you’ll eventually be best known for the destruction you perpetrated.  Destruction a century or more on, which you had no way of foretelling.  I think I’d like to leave nothing but the memories of me in the minds of those who will soon enough follow me in death.  I don’t want records putting my name and face to some atrocity impossible for me to currently envision.
