What form of communication do you wish would make a comeback?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! Be forewarned, though, I can’t read smoke signals.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What form of communication do you wish would make a comeback?

The film Empire of Light focused on three topics: racism, sexism, and mental illness.  None of these weighty topics can be fully tackled in something even as lengthy as the Marvel canon, let alone in a single movie.  Attempting to shoehorn all three themes into a single film is a fool’s errand, but acclaimed director, Sam Mendes, would not be pigeonholed into choosing only one.  He would, however, feature pigeons holed up in the defunct upper ballroom of the Empire Cinema.  He uses one rat with wings to parallel the relationship between two movie theater employees.  Stephen heals a pigeon’s broken wing and allows it to fly away, possibly never to return.  Similarly, his lover, Hilary—who, herself, suffers from mental health issues—is instrumental in helping Stephen heal mentally and emotionally after a vicious race-related beating.  At film’s end, Hilary sees Stephen off to a distant college where he will stretch his wings and sore to greater heights.  Unlike our pigeon friend, Stephen will return to visit his new girlfriend, who supplanted Hilary.  I like to believe Hilary and Stephen will maintain correspondence … preferably via homing pigeons.
