These birds are not like the Arctic geese familiar to North Pole residents. Viv is a lifelong lover of wildlife, and recent convert to food waste prevention advocate. She combines her two passions, deciding to feed these birds with stale rolls left over from Thanksgiving—or as the overworked elves in Santa’s shops call the holiday: “Last Sleep Till Christmas.” Ned tags along solely out of a sense of camaraderie. He is somewhat indifferent to wildlife, but in complete disagreement with Viv’s determination of the bread’s freshness. After consuming his entire roll, he sneaks off to the kitchen to finish the rest of them off.
