Carrots are actually listed as their 11th favorite food—in a 3-way tie with figs and kumquats—but the top-10 were unavailable in either the kitchen or Ned’s magic hat. Nearly all the vegetables still uneaten should clue Ned into the fact that the majority of the deer surrounding him lack the rein- prefix he ascribed them.
