Q&complAints #676: Extreme Curiosity

What are you extremely curious about?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! But I’m really curious–extremely so–about what you have to say.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What are you extremely curious about?

Publicly traded companies are beholden to their shareholders—always looking for ways to pinch pennies. A penny saved here, a cent squirrelled there, multiplied over millions or billions of transactions equates to a Scrooge McDuck vault of pennies in the investor’s Money Bin. Anyone who has ever purchased anything at a CVS must believe the company could save millions each year across their 9,000+ stores if their receipts were reconfigured to be shorter than my arm. Since they maintain their ways, it’s clear the coupons and self-promotions on those gargantuan receipts must somehow be making them bank. CVS pharmacy customers may also be wondering how much a staple costs. The best deal I could find—if bought in bulk—is about 3,500 staples for $1.00. I have never seen a CVS prescription bag littered with fewer than 3 staples—5 or more is commonplace! Do the math yourself, but surely this liberal staple usage is costing CVS real money. Any profit generated from an integration of a conservative use of staples might exact an equivalent revenue loss for Staples Inc. Since Staples is a privately owned company, though, they’re not beholden to any shareholders.
