Q&complAints #672 : Comedic Stage Name

What is a great stage name for a comedian?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! It’s comedic to me that you’d have this stage and not use of it.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What is a great stage name for a comedian?

Louis C.K., George Burns, Rodney Dangerfield—all stage names. Whether a pseudonym conceals an unpronounceable name, obviscates an ancestry, or creates a persona, comedians can use whatever name they’d like. I imagine a comedian convincing an audience through his entire set that he tells nothing but lies. He evokes many laughs, all the while reinforcing that fibster narrative. Near the close of his set, he tells the audience that pushing the power button of their cell phone 5 times in rapid succession triggers an emergency feature that automatically dials 911. He goes on to test them:

“If you don’t believe me, you have nothing to lose in trying it right now. If I am, however, telling the truth, having hundreds of 911 calls at the exact same time coming from the exact same location will have people literally breaking down the doors to get into the theater. Not exactly the reason I envisioned they’d want in, but hey, no such thing as bad publicity.”

As siren-like alarms blaze forth around the theater, the comedian announces his departure:

“Sounds like that’s my time! You’ve been a gullible audience. I’ve been Fred Juillant.”
