Q&complAints #637 : Inevitable Fame

What is your best chance of becoming famous?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! But, I assure you both fame and fortune will [not] befall you if you do.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What is your best chance of becoming famous?

John Wilkes Booth.  Charles J. Guiteau.  Leon Czolgosz.  Lee Harvey Oswald.  Most of us only know two of these four names; but each of them succeeded in executing a similar act.  For those single actions—a mere moment near the end of their otherwise unnoteworthy lives—their names live in infamy. A single, cowardly act allowing the memory of John and Lee to endure for generations.  The other two … well, nobody talks about Garfield (unless referencing the cat) or McKinley (unless arguing over the name of a mountain).  So there’s a 50/50 shot, I suppose.  The real key here is to not allow these names to be released to the public in the first place.  Easier said than done.  Stop allowing desperate folks the indulgence of living forever in the memories of complete strangers in exchange for the imminent end of their own lives.  It’s the trumped-up version of TV networks cutting away when a drunk lunatic runs across the pitch during the World Cup final, denying those 15 minutes of fame.  Nobody should know Luigi Mangione’s name!  I think I’ve gotten a little off track here.  What was the question?
