Still, I found myself rooting for the gang bangers that whooped Mr. Williams’ ass—wishing the beating upon the actor himself. I was also glad the character got his ass handed to him, though. What kind of person writes a 78-page plan for his kids’ entire life and career before they’re even conceived? The ultimate in ultra high-risk retirement investments! But it worked out for him in the end. And it worked out for the entire family when the gang member keenest on whooping Richard’s ass was the victim of a drive-by shooting just as Richard strode toward him, pistol in hand. If that really happened, Venus and Serena’s contemporaries got served one hell of an unlucky break. Instead of derailing the 78-page plan, Venus and Serena would go on to break serve to the tune of 30 combined Grand Slam singles titles.
