Q&complAints #144: Give Back to Community

What would you like to give back to your community?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! I wrote this just for you–won’t you return the favor?

. . .here are my thoughts.

What would you like to give back to your community?

Is it just me, or do you feel a few too many of my posts over the last few months have dealt with COVID and vaccines? Welp, here goes another! Some of the positive news early on in the pandemic revolved around nightly banging of pots and pans in New York City at a certain time each evening. This was meant to be a means of appreciation for the healthcare workers struggling for long hours, in dangerous circumstances, to care for the sick and dying. Many of those hospital workers contracted COVID from their patients. A number of these doctors and nurses ultimately succumbed to the virus. All this was at a much more dangerous time—before the vaccines became available. The vaccines aren’t a golden ticket that’ll [redundancy alert!] 100% assure your guaranteed safety from COVID. But full vaccination allows as close to a certainty that if you do contract COVID, you won’t suffer a severe case that leaves you hospitalized . . . or dead. As a pharmacist who immunizes, I’m proud to inject the people of my community with the peace-of-mind these imperative COVID vaccines afford them.

  1. I want to thank you so much for being a healthcare worker. I think you guys are going over and beyond. I don’t think there is anything we could do to thank you enough. I guess the best I could do for my community is to get the shots and booster. I did that and I wear my mask for those who cannot get the shots.
