Q&complAints #129: Admired Profession

What profession do you admire, but would never want to do?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! But if you do, you’ll gain my enduring admiration.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What profession do you admire, but would never want to do?

Jen Psaki’s job as White House Press Secretary is one I’d never want. You have to admire how well she does it, though.

I imagine her CV includes college debate and a stint with The Second City improve group. There’s that mishmash between freewheeling some answers and being limited as to what she can say on others. All the while, she’s representing the President of the United States! It boils down to preparation. She’s got her big binder with labeled tabs to help her out there. Occasionally she answers questions by straight-up reading prepared statements. Even then, she has the skill to appear as though speaking somewhat off the cuff. Jen must know what she can and can’t say about any number of delicate situations occurring around the globe, while stealthily evading the inevitable question concerning something she’s not yet been briefed on. I have no idea how much a Press Secretary gets paid, but it can’t be worth the stress. Although, they did stop giving press briefings altogether during much of The Donald’s administration. No actual work, a handsome paycheck, and résumé filler—that I could maybe do.

  1. I definitely would not want to be a press secretary. Don’t care which party they are all a bunch of liars. I would not want to be a doctor, too much responsibility, or a police officer, way too many idiots out there that don’t respect authority.

  2. I have often said that same thing. It seems no matter what the press secretary says said it gets turned around. That is one of the last jobs on earth that
Truthfully I just deleted what I was going to say that is worse then the press secretary job. It could get me in a lot of trouble. I’ll tell you the next time I see you if you promise not to repeat it.
