What is one thing you’ve never done on the Internet?

Obviously, nobody has ever had a reasonable conversation on the Internet, right? You know, one that hasn’t inevitably progressed to a heavy amount of trolling. I’ve also never posted my debut of the song “My Whole Family . . .” and gotten 250,000 views in one day. No siree Bob! That 2006 rocket ship launched the career of then 16-year-old Bo Burnham. I hadn’t seen anything he performed for well over a decade, until he was a bit-part actor in a couple movies. Then a few days ago, I watched Promising Young Woman. I knew little about the film, other than it was one of eight 2021 Best Picture Oscar nominees. It didn’t win. Although I thought it was a fine film, I sure hope Nomadland was better. Otherwise, we’d have to blame the pandemic for a truly lackluster year in the film industry. Anyway, it wasn’t until I saw the closing credits of Promising Young Woman that I realized the male lead was, in fact, the very same Bo Burnham. A quarter-million views in a single day!? Hell, I’d be ecstatic with the occasional day of triple-digit page views.
