Q&complAints #105 : Personalized License Plate

What would your personalized license plate say?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! You can use more than 7 characters.

. . .here are my thoughts.

What would your personalized license plate say?

Do inmates actually make license plates? If so, are they paid a rate a 5-year-old would consider insulting? The BMV charges a premium for personalized plates, so they should at least throw a few extra pennies to inmate 54241806. Personally, I don’t care one iota what my plate number is. Obviously, though, I’d prefer it not be:

HTLRRKS

In fact, I can’t remember the last time I got a new set. Maybe when I renew next year, I’ll upgrade. In Ohio, you’re allowed a maximum of 7 characters on a vanity plate, and a minimum of 4. Characters can include any combination of letters A to Z, Spaces, and numbers 0 to 9. Immediately this doesn’t make sense to me. By that definition, you should be able to have a single number or letter, along with 6 spaces. Thus, 7 people could have seemingly the same plate, differing only by the spacing.

1 _ _ _ _ _ _
_ 1 _ _ _ _ _
Etc.

If forced to choose a personalized plate, I’d have to go with:

URPRBRT

Let’s be honest, though. All vanity plates say the exact same thing:

DOOSHBG

  1. That’s a good one for you Sue Ann. I ‘m called Mama H, so I guess that’s what I’d choose.

  2. Truthfully, I would never pay the extra charge for a vanity plate. I could care less what my plate says.
But if I had to pick one it would be about the lights of my life, my 4 grandchildren. I guess it would be, 1 HOTNANA.
