What thing, event or person drew your wild applause?

. . .here are my thoughts.
What thing, event or person drew your wild applause?
I watched a EURO 2020 football match on 06/12/21. The name’s a bit misleading, as the competition was postponed a year due to the pandemic. I guess since it’s one of those competitions held every 4 years, they stuck with the numerology for historic sake. Denmark’s captain, Christian Eriksen, collapsed near the end of the first half, just as the ball was thrown in to him. Within 2 minutes, the medical staff was performing CPR on the midfielder. The terrifying sight was caught on video in its entirety and televised to the world. The amazing medical staff stabilized Christian on the field, and he was on his way to the hospital within about 10 minutes. All credit in the world goes to that highly trained and efficient healthcare team for saving the life of the 29-year-old. They deserve a standing ovation! What’s been overlooked, though, is the professionalism of Denmark’s star player. Even as he was losing consciousness—his heart ceasing to beat—Christian plays a perfect pass off his left thigh, directly to his teammate. Christian Eriksen’s underappreciated professionalism while facing the ultimate extreme circumstance retrospectively drew my wild applause.
Watching a group of 6 and 7 year olds take 2nd place in a baseball tournament when the rest of the season they only won 1 game. They were so proud of themselves and didn’t even care if they didn’t win, they just were excited to have everyone yelling for them.
Wow. That would have drawn mine too. Mine is a young athlete who stopped to help a runner from the opposing team when he fell.
