. . .here are my thoughts.
What should be a pizza topping?
Pineapple is one of the most polarizing pizza toppings. Frankly, I don’t care one way or another. You like a Hawaiian pie, have a Hawaiian pie. You want something on your pizza, put it on the pizza. It comes down to how all the flavors interact. My thought: the more the merrier. Pile on veggies and proteins until the flavors meld together, not allowing any one to take precedent. A pizza, after all, is little more than a salad atop flattened breadsticks with marinara dipping sauce. Just don’t forget the anchovies—with all their salty goodness. Too bad many pizza places don’t offer this option. It’s a mystery why these fish aren’t more popular among Americans, given U.S. diets are so high in sodium. I think anchovies should replace pepperoni as the archetypal topping because—let’s be honest—pepperoni is just so damn boring! Plus, it’s had more than its fair share of time as the de facto garnish. Maybe some new topping will come along and revolutionize the world of ‘za. If and when that happens, I’ll embrace it. Just toss it on there with the rest—but don’t skimp on those anchovies.
Nope.. No anchovies on briar hill. But I bet we could add them for you if you eat the whole pizza
I’m with Diane. It has to be briar hill. But I still can’t find one as good as Grandma’s or Aunt Antoinette’s.
But do they have anchovies on their menu?
Fresh tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella, evoo, salt
Potatoes, rosemary and fresh cheese
Broccoli Rabe, and fresh cheese
Spinach and feta
Marinara sauce, Romano cheese, fried red peppers and fresh cheese
Oh my if you are from Youngstown and even half Italian it has to be Briar Hill or my moms. Sauce, peppers and Romano cheese.
