What one thing annoys you most at a restaurant?
Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. Then scroll back up and see what I have to complain about. Or you can wait until afterward . . . I’m not the boss of you. You know what? Don’t write anything for all I care! Rest assured, I won’t be annoyed if you don’t.
. . .here are my thoughts.
What one thing annoys you most at a restaurant?
Imagine, if you will, the following atrocity being allowed to go unmentioned, unquestioned, unresolved. Two patrons order the same menu item, the mere mention by the first inducing salivary action from the second. At plate’s presentation, patron #1 finds the aforementioned atrocity of inequitable fruit slices existing among the foster drizzle of patron #2’s flapjacks. What excuse can be afforded this server? A simple oversight, or something with more malice. Is this a case of sexism, ageism, or some other –ism unknown? It must be more than a mere oversight, for otherwise she lacks the very attention to detail that dictates the majority of her sliding-scale wage. A choice it must have been to deny me patron #1 their proper portion of fruit. So what is it that most annoys me at restaurants? No, it’s not discrimination or inattention to detail. You’re not earning your wage, dear reader, if you haven’t figured this one out by now. Tipping! Let’s be done with it. Just incorporate it into the price of the meal already.
I have been to Europe which most country’s includes a service charge in your check. Service can be bad at times or it is just the European personality. What annoys me the most is someone talking on their phone as if they are in their own home. Because of all the restaurant noise they have to talk louder so everyone can hear their conversation. I am the one giving them dagger looks and have at times asked the waitress to ask them to get off their phone thus giving her a bigger tip if she does. If my phone rings I get up and go out side. There is a well known lawyer in Ytown who frequents a number of bars, pre covid, who is always on his phone. I will leave if he is in the bar.
We can remove the “Restaurant” portion of the question. Talking on the phone can be just the biggest annoyance in general, regardless of where it’s at.
I have thought of that but service might not be as good because wages are the same if the employee performs well or not.
Cruise lines are now going that. You pay the gratuity when you pay for your cruise The tips are split among the staff. Oh and by the way before you get off the ship you are given envelopes to tip the employee who went over and beyond. So you basically are tipping twice.
They get ya coming and going.
You are still complaining about the bananas on your pancakes. I did give you most of mine if you recall. Lol
What can I say, it was very memorable.
Talk about holding a grudge. Brad you are so abused.
