What to do when you have a bit of time on your hands, a trusty old scarf, a few random stones, and a hat ornament stolen borrowed from the Christmas tree inside? If there’s powder on the ground, build a snowman!
Sitting out in the cold, Ned reminisces about the snowman he created years ago, before Viv joined him on his yearly adventures. Somewhere along the line he verged into a 45-minute diatribe about the Mpemba Effect, which Viv listened to despite her progressively numbing extremities.
Watching the snow slowly melt away, memories of that snowman those many years ago flood back to Ned. He’s all alone, calling out for help that would never come. Ned keeps this portion of the memory to himself, focusing instead on the joy he feels in the moment—the joy of being able to make new memories with such a good friend.
