Questions are ballooning out of control about this carnivalesque scene. In what world is an eraser considered a prize? How in the world did Ned’s hat get in that balloon? How close did he come to getting a tack in the eye? Ned certainly would have gotten a few sharp projectiles “accidentally” hurled in his direction if it weren’t for Viv’s desperate desire for that Thor eraser. Ned gleaned from the smile on Viv’s face that she’s a sucker for a muscular hunk with facial hair and flowing locks. When questioned about the hat, Ned evasively and cryptically answered, “Magic red hat; magic like that.”
