Always one to be helpful to younger elves, Ned begins briefing Viv—who is called by her full name, Vivienne, only by Santa himself—on the nuts-and-bolts of the job. Introductions take far longer than Ned expects, as it becomes obvious Viv didn’t bother to read the dossier about Brad & Phoebe, as mandated by the Official Elfin Handbook. This despite being given the report way back on Halloween—or, as the holiday is referred to at the North Pole: 55 days till Christmas. With an avuncular pat on the back, Ned decides Viv will just have to learn as she goes.
