What are you always looking for?
Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. Then scroll back up and see what I have to complain about. Or you can wait until afterward . . . I’m not the boss of you. You know what? Don’t write anything for all I care! But I’m always looking for participation.
. . .here are my thoughts.
What are you always looking for?
When someone drops off a prescription at the pharmacy, we ask them when they’d like us to have it ready for them. Far too often their answer is, “Now.” Far too infrequently our response is, “Okay, let me just pull that right out of my ass . . . and here you go.” But I’m always looking to mess with somebody’s head, so on occasion I’ll delve into my rant:
“Well, now is over as soon as you say now—before I even hear it, technically—so that’s not possible. If you really get down to semantics, you’d need to specify if the now you speak of is now as in when you thought to say now, or when now actually left your lips. Or maybe you had the foresight for now to reference those few nanoseconds in the future when the now sound waves entered my ears and got interpreted by my brain. That’d be clever. But not too clever, because now you’re looking at a 2 hour wait.”
