Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients
Ever heard of Dick’s Last Resort? Never been to the restaurant myself, but I love the concept. It’s like the court jester in medieval times being able to tell the King the harsh truth since everything he said was in—you guessed it—jest. Why has no pharmacy taken up this business practice? If patients expect harsh but fair truth from the pharmacy team, they’ll accept it readily.
Welcome to URxProbablyRxight. The pharmacy of the future where we provide “Meds & Counsel without Patience for Patients.”
Off-Site Pre-Verification
[Rph]: “I just can’t get caught up today with all these immunizations.”
[Tech]: “Sounds like you could use some off-site pre-ver.”
[Rph]: “That’d be nice. But it’s Columbus Day—they’d probably be closed, anyhow.”
[Tech]: “The last company I worked for had it, but—”
[Rph]: “Bet the pharmacists loved that.”
[Tech]: “Honestly—not so much.”
[Rph]: “Why the hell wouldn’t they!?”
[Tech]: “It’s like they had quotas were they had to decline so many per hour or it didn’t look like they were doing their jobs right. Then at the same time, the company was pushing for less errors when typing. It was one hand fighting the other.”
[Rph]: “Heck, even if they only checked a couple an hour, I’d be grateful.”
[Tech]: “You say that now. But you’d be singing a different tune soon enough.”
[Rph]: “I hear that that’s your opinion, Dillon—which you’re obviously entitled to since opinions can’t be right or wrong—but you’re wrong!”
[Tech]: “Whatever, Roger. You don’t even know! They’d send prescriptions back for stupid shit, like putting ‘headache’ in the sig when the doctor wrote ‘migraine’.”
[Rph]: “I assume they had some sort of protocol or—or whatever you want to call it that they had to follow.”
[Tech]: “Ohh, they absolutely did, but—”
[Rph]: “You just had to find out what they were forced to be anal about, and voila.”
[Tech]: “But we weren’t privy to their master formula!”
[Rph]: “‘Privy?’ Listen to you and your fancy words.”
[Tech]: “Yeah, but don’t use any fancy words in a sig, or they’d decline it back so fast your head would spin.”
