What is your biggest regret in the last week?
Watching The Inspection earlier this week, I was confused to see Dave Chappelle as a dramatic supporting actor. But I shouldn’t have been … it was Bokeem Woodbine. A quick Internet search verifies I’m far from the first person to think Dave and Bokeem are doppelgangers. I’m perhaps closer to the last person to realize this. I had never even heard of Bokeem Woodbine. I’m fairly confident I’d never heard either the word Bokeem or Woodbine in my entire life! Odd, since Bokeem’s filmography has nearly 100 entries. Sifting through his list, I came to realize I’ve seen only one film and one TV series that he appeared in a single episode of—both over a quarter-century ago. Who knows what either of them looked like back then? Well, I suppose you can just watch The Rock on Hulu to see what Bokeem looked like in 1996. Then jump on over to Peacock to see Chappelle in The Nutty Professor, released that same year. I’m not going to bother, but let me know if you do. You’ll surely regret watching either movie far less than I did suffering through The Inspection.
