What is the worst thing someone can do when playing a board game?
Don’t waste your Monopoly money buying and building up Boardwalk and Park Place. Sure, you could easily bankrupt a competitor with a single unfortunate roll. But the cost to do so—along with the decreased likelihood of landing on one of those illustrious properties due to their board position—mathematically dictates they’re poor investments. Don’t believe me? There are numerous books written on the subject. You read that right—books … plural. Or, instead of reading, do real-world research by playing 100 games with friends. Focus your strategy primarily on building up those dark blue properties and you’ll likely find yourself filing for bankruptcy quicker than someone who went all in on NFTs. So don’t waste your valuable finances on those two expensive properties that are among the least likely to land on. That’d be a huge strategic mistake. A mistake, however, that pales in comparison to the worst thing you can do in the whole of the board-gaming world: starting a game of Monopoly! I hope we can agree Monopoly is a pointless endeavor, since there’s not a chance in hell you’ll ever finish a game.
