Q&complAints #357: Business Owner

If you could own one business, what would it be?

Post your answer in the LEAVE A COMMENT section below. I’m not the boss of you, though. Don’t write anything for all I care! I’ll just be over here, minding my own business.

. . .here are my thoughts.

If you could own one business, what would it be?

Cyrano is technically a musical, but one with very little of the music and dancing that makes a musical so dreadfully boring.  At the begging of the film, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) ruins a performance at a packed theater.  As repentance, he tosses a bag of money to the theater’s proprietor.  Although it’s a very small bag—even when compared to Dinklage—it contains enough coins to repay each patron’s entry fee, with a substantial profit remaining for the house.  I’d love to own any business where I was paid to stay closed!  It turns out that money is what Cyrano’s highbrow love interest, Roxanne, is desperately lacking.  What Cyrano lacks, however, is the testicular fortitude to confess to Roxanne that he loves her—a love, we later discover, she feels as well.  Had Cyrano swallowed his pride and expressed his love for her prior to tossing away his entire net worth, we’d have no movie.  Roxanne would reciprocate his love.  Cue the wedding.  Financial problems solved.  Live happily ever after.  That would have made for the best kind of musical … the one that’s never made.
