. . .here are my thoughts.

What is the most important part of any emergency preparedness plan?

In a life-or-death emergency, I’m prepared to do it!  Society of the Snow is a film about the Uruguayan rugby team whose plane crashes in the Andes.  You guessed it—I’m talking cannibalism.  All things being equal, though, I’d prefer to cook the vastus lateralis of our left prop or the trapezius of our scrum-half prior to consumption.  Don’t accuse me of being a glamper; I’m purely minding the reminder statement at the bottom of every restaurant menu:

*CONSUMING RAW OR UNDERCOOKED MEATS … MAY INCREASE YOUR RISK OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS …

I suppose starving to death would be a bit higher on my priority list after 17 days with virtually no sustenance.  Still, it baffles me there wasn’t a single mention of trying to build a fire despite having lighters available to spark up all those cigs.  I guess Society of the Snow viewers should realize the white stuff doesn’t burn.  Ultimately, 16 people survived the 72-day ordeal.  Actors either pulled off Christian Bale-esque weight loss for the post-rescue shower scenes, or they had cachectic stand-ins.  Regardless, it seems a diet solely of human meat isn’t ideal.
